Do you want to help develop communication in Olofström Municipality? Do you have an eye for detail but the ability to see the big picture? Then we have an exciting opportunity for you! With us, you will have a varied job where you make a difference for residents, employees, and visitors.
Olofström Municipality is looking for someone who wants to work both strategically and operationally with communication in general, from planning and producing content to following up on efforts in our channels. In addition, you will have a special responsibility for managing and developing the municipality's intranet and external website, ensuring they meet the needs of the operations and users and are accessible to all.
You will be part of the municipal management department's staff unit, which is a close-knit team with assignments primarily in communication, preparedness, crime prevention, EU coordination, and overall quality work. Your closest colleague will be the communication manager, and together you will support the entire organization in reaching the right message to the right target group.
Job Description
As a communicator with us, you will plan, produce, and follow up on communication efforts in various channels. You will create printed materials, news, press releases, and content for social media, and serve as a sounding board for the operations in their communication planning.
You will also:
- be responsible for the development and management of the municipality's intranet and external website
- train and support web editors and content managers
- specify requirements and conduct acceptance testing for orders to suppliers
- report on the digital accessibility of the websites
- be responsible for managing and developing our image and video platform
- support crisis communication management as needed
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with an academic degree in media and communication studies or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have several years of work experience in the role of communicator or other equivalent experience, and you are accustomed to working both strategically and operationally.
You also have:
- good knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud
- experience in managing and developing websites
- good knowledge of HTML and CSS
- good knowledge of CMS
- very good knowledge of the WCAG standard
- very good knowledge of digital accessibility
- a valid driver's license (B)
It is advantageous to have:
- good knowledge of Sitevision
- good knowledge of UX/usability
- experience in web analytics and user testing
- good knowledge of plain language
- experience with social media
- knowledge of crisis communication
- experience in public service, especially in municipal work
Personal Attributes
We believe you are an engaged and responsible person who enjoys working on many different tasks simultaneously while being meticulous and creative. You need to have good collaborative skills as you will work broadly and have contact with both managers and employees within the municipal organization as well as external actors.
You need to be communicative and handle situations that require judgment, and have a good understanding of how an issue can be part of a larger context.
As a person, you are self-sufficient once you have settled into the role, bring new approaches, and take the initiative to drive the development of the municipality's communication forward.
